1. Project Background
As part of efforts to curb the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and to strengthen preventive measures within educational and health institutions in the Republic of Chad, Al-Baraka Organization, in cooperation with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), implemented a health and awareness project aimed at improving hygiene standards and promoting preventive awareness, particularly in high-density environments.
2. Project Objectives
To enhance hygiene practices in secondary schools and health centers.
To raise preventive awareness in order to limit the spread of the Coronavirus.
To support educational and health institutions with essential hygiene supplies.
To protect students, educational staff, and health workers.
3. Project Components
The project was limited to the following components:
First: Cleaning Equipment
Surface cleaning and disinfection materials
Hand sanitizers and disinfectants
Cleaning tools designated for educational and health institutions
Approved hygiene supplies for daily use
Second: Awareness and Guidance Materials
Awareness posters on the prevention of the Coronavirus
Instructional boards on handwashing and personal hygiene
Awareness leaflets targeting students, teachers, and health workers
Educational materials illustrating proper health behaviors
4. Beneficiary Institutions
17 Secondary Schools (students, teachers, and school administrations)
10 Health Centers (health staff, patients, and visitors)
Local communities surrounding these institutions
5. Implementation Mechanism
Coordination with the relevant authorities to identify the targeted secondary schools and health centers.
Provision and preparation of cleaning equipment and awareness materials.
Distribution of supplies to beneficiary institutions.
Installation of awareness materials in visible locations.
Awareness-raising of beneficiaries on the importance of adhering to hygiene and preventive measures.
6. Results and Impact
Noticeable improvement in overall hygiene levels in secondary schools and health centers.
Increased preventive health awareness among students and staff.
Contribution to reducing the risk of infection transmission within beneficiary institutions.
Support to national efforts in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
7. Project Status
The project was fully implemented in accordance with the established plan. All cleaning equipment and awareness materials were delivered to the beneficiary institutions. The project is considered completed and successful, having achieved its objectives.
8. Conclusion
This project represents a successful model of humanitarian cooperation between Al-Baraka Organization and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA). It contributed to strengthening hygiene standards and spreading preventive awareness in 17 secondary schools and 10 health centers in the Republic of Chad, with a positive impact on community health and safety.
